Measuring 20 1/2″ wide at the center by 3 1/2″ deep, this large circa 1930s Postal Telegraph Clock was made by the Hammond Instrument Co, for the Company. This company was started by John MacKay in 1886 who competed against the larger WestrnUnion company. He went out of business in 1943 as the telephone was responsible for the loss of telegraph business. Made from pressed steel, this clock has some wear to the original chrome plating and black paint. Everything looks to be in complete unrestored condition however, without the original plug, we were unable to test it.
